Vehicles with independent wheel suspension are very popular at Dominik Schwer- & Tiefladertransporte from Berlin-Schönefeld.
In Germany, this principle enables a 12 tonne axle load on the one hand and a minimum loading height of up to 780 mm on the other - a clear advantage when subways are on the agenda.
With a 6-axle Faymonville MultiMAX with ‘Twin Axle II’ independent wheel suspension, the company is pushing the boundaries, as company manager Patrice Dominik explains. ‘We wanted to expand our range of services and move into a different tonne range with this low loader.’
Semi low loader with many facets
The new vehicle is modelled on a 5-axle low-loader semi-trailer and is complemented by a 1-axle dolly, which provides the combination with additional options if required.
In addition to all the power, the adaptability of this MultiMAX is particularly striking. The hydraulic gooseneck enables height equalisation if a challenging route profile requires this due to the overall length of the trailer.
The MultiMAX semi low loader can also be telescoped, allowing its basic length of 11,500 mm to be extended to a total of 16,100 mm. The fact that the semi low-loader follows the tractor unit like clockwork with a maximum steering angle of 55° will certainly make life easier for the driver on a day-to-day basis.
Coherent overall package
All these qualities ensure that the Dominik team can even reach construction sites in the big city that are difficult to access. Patrice Dominik always feels that he is in good hands with Faymonville.
"We have trusted the products and service for years. The overall package is right for us." And the decision-makers at Dominik continue to take a proactive approach to planning the future of their family business.
A new 3-axle MegaMAX lowbed with a 1-axle dolly from Faymonville was recently added to the fleet - with independent wheel suspension, of course.
